Task 1: Determine during the design phase of system development, whether information sharing with other agencies is feasible and desirable to meet common or expanded information needs, and compatibility. |

Objective: State agency IT-based services will be coordinated to meet the initiatives of state, local, and federal government levels. |
Task 1: Review all agency profiles and plans for program coordination, application development and data sharing activities with other agencies (state, local, federal, tribal), other states, private industry, and non-governmental organizations. |

Objective: Ensure Privacy Rights: Establish security mechanisms within the system to ensure that inappropriate information dissemination does not occur and the privacy rights of all individuals are protected. |
Task 1: Review privacy rights within the agency so that the rights adhere to the current process provided by your state's IT plan and the Freedom of Information Act. |

Objective: Identify personnel within the agency to participate in data consolidation, whether outsourced or directed by the state's IT department. Agency personnel should take an active role in setting policies and implementing system changes. There should be representation on the advisory committee from each of the criminal justice agencies. |
