Van E. Dyer has a combined 33 years of law enforcement
experience. He retired from the Arkansas State Police as a Sergeant
in charge of the Educational Services Section. He was responsible
for public information, education, and relations for the Arkansas
State Police, during which time he served as state director for the
Arkansas Crime Check program under Governor David Pryor. He was one
of the first officers in the state to receive a senior law enforcement
certificate and is a certified law enforcement instructor. |

Manager for CJIs Traffic Safety Programs, which include Standardized
Field Sobriety Testing (SFST), Traffic Occupant Protection Strategies
(TOPS), Drug Impairment Training for Educational Professionals (DITEP),
Drug Recognition Expert Training (DRE) and a Child Passenger Safety
Seat Program. |

Mira Frosolono-Gray holds a Bachelor of Science degree

of Houston. She has over 13 years of research experience, which include
medical and criminal justice research. She maintains membership in
the Delta Pi Epsilon National Honorary Professional Graduate Society
and Omicron Nu Honor Society. She has worked on a wide variety of
projects and programs at the Criminal Justice Institute over the past
six years. Currently she conducts research in the School Violence
Resource Center and is also project manager for the Rural Sexual Assault
Curriculum Development Project. |

Alondra Gallegos holds a Master of Arts degree in Criminal
Justice and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology
from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Ms. Gallegos oversees
the BJA Internet Projects role in the Bulletproof Vest Grant
application process. She also provides computer technical assistance
to rural law enforcement agencies throughout the United States, including
daily telephone contact and assistance for police chiefs and sheriffs
in the establishment of Internet connections and e-mail accounts,
as well as routine dial-up networking maintenance and troubleshooting
assistance. |

as an English Instructor, most notably at Morehouse College in Atlanta,
Georgia, for five years, and is a published novelist. As a writing
and research specialist with CJI, she provides advanced research
and technical writing assistance to the Office of Justice Program's
Information Technology Initiatives, Justice Integration Project.

Justice. Mrs. Harper is a Research Specialist for the Institute and
maintains the CJI Library. She provides grant assistance to Arkansas
law enforcement agencies across the State and instructs in the School

Kimberly Hendricks graduated Cum Laude from Philander Smith College
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and is pursuing a Masters
Degree in Public Administration from the University of Arkansas
at Little Rock. Ms. Hendricks is also a graduate of the City of
Little Rock's Racial and Cultural Diversity Awareness Training,
and has served the law enforcement community for three years by
way of the Criminal Justice Institute.

Barbara Huston retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in
1996 with over 22 years of military service. She specialized in personnel
and business administration and has been involved in drug law enforcement
on the high seas as well as Haitian migration interdiction. She is
a volunteer firefighter and is certified in CPR and in the use of
an AED in case of heart attack. |

Larance Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education
from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and is currently working
towards a Master of Public Administration. Ms. Johnson has invested
over 24 years with state government, which includes 10 years in the
juvenile justice field. She has participated in the design, development,
and implementation of many projects that have enhanced the juvenile
justice system in Arkansas. Ms. Johnson is also a certified law enforcement
instructor. |
Mr. Rubben Johnson,

Rubben Johnson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration
degree from University of Arkansas at Little Rock. After graduating
from UALR, his education continued at Pulaski Technical College where
he successfully accomplished 12 semester hours of Cisco Routers and
Switches. Mr. Johnson also has five years of experience in the networking
and installation field. Mr. Johnson's expertise varies from personal
technical support to educational networking support. He is currently
pursuing a Commission position in the Army Reserve as a 2nd Lieutenant
that includes six and half additional years of active and reserve
duty. |

of the FBI National Academy, 169th Session. He retired as Captain
from the Jonesboro, Arkansas Police Department with 21 years of
service where he was Director of Training for three years. He holds
the senior law enforcement certificate and is a certified law enforcement
instructor.

Dr. Cheryl Puskarich May,

Cheryl Puskarich May holds a Doctorate in Biological / Forensic
Anthropology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (1984,
Dr. Bill Bass). She graduated with a Master of Arts degree from
Western Michigan University in 1982, and earned a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Anthropology in 1978 from West Virginia University. Dr.
May was a member of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences
research faculty in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery for 12
years. She has attained the academic status of Associate Professor
at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and has taught within
the Departments of Sociology / Anthropology as well as Criminal
Justice. Dr. May has published numerous articles in peer-??? orthopedic
journals and most recently co-authored three articles that were
published in the Encyclopedia of Forensic Science (2001). In addition
to her development and oversight of the Forensic Sciences and Computer
Education Center, she serves as an Associate Forensic Scientist
for the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory. For approximately three
years she served as a Subject Matter Expert on the Department of
Justice's National Commission on the Future of DNA Evidence, Crime
Scene Investigation Subcommittee. She has also reviewed several
physical evidence related documents at the request of the National
Institute of Justice. Dr. May has 24 years of forensic case experience
and 22 years of experience teaching at the university level. She
has provided lectures on forensic science / physical evidence to
law enforcement executives and front line officers in numerous states
around the country. She has been with the Criminal Justice Institute
since 1995.
